Monica Shaffer, CPDT Monica Shaffer, CPDT

Monica is the owner of a lovely 2-year-old Shepherd mix as well as her pet project, On The Waggin' Dog Training. This project began a long, long time ago in an urban city not so far away while laboring in a clerical position at the ASPCA's Animal Behavior Center. In between phone answering and paper filing Monica fell in love with and adopted a terribly cute but difficult dog named Layla.

To keep Layla and her sanity, Monica learned behavior modification techniques from the brains that made up the distinguished Animal Behavior Center. Once addicted to dog training, Monica spent many hands-on hours volunteering with behaviorally challenged dogs, assisting in training classes and auditing the ASPCA Dog Training Internship before becoming a Certified Pet Dog Trainer.

Monica made her Broadway debut with William Berloni Theatrical Animals, Inc. working as a full-time trainer on the Broadway musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Monica now lives happily ever after with said difficult dog who just earned her wings on a round trip flight to Florida. Congrats Layla!
